Joni is the one people come back for. Tell him your level and what the forecast is doing, and he'll tell you which board and which spot — including the mornings when the answer is “not today”. He'd rather you had a good session than a long rental.

Where is the shop?
On Jl. Sengkol in Kuta, Lombok — a few minutes from the centre of town and easy to reach on a scooter. Open every day, 07:30 to 22:00. The pin below takes you straight to the door.

50,000 IDR for a session and 80,000 IDR for the full day on soft-tops, fishes, funboards and shortboards. Longboards are 100,000 a session and 150,000 for the day. Staying a while? Ask about the weekly and monthly rates, they work out much cheaper per day.
Can I see what boards you have before I come in?
Yes — the rack is on this site. It reads the shop's own board list, so it shows what is here right now, what's out on the water and what's in the workshop, with the size, the volume and the fin setup of each board. We update it as boards go out and come back, so it can run a little behind on a busy morning — message us if you want a board held.

Not usually. Walk in, tell us what you surf and where you're going, and you'll leave with a board. In July and August the good sizes move fast, so if you know your dates it costs you nothing to message us first and have one put aside.
What do you need from me to rent a board?
No cash deposit. We take a photo of your passport, a photo of you, your WhatsApp number and your name — that's it. We also photograph the board with you at the counter so there's no argument later about a ding that was already there.
I've never surfed. Where do I start?
With a lesson, from 450,000 IDR depending on the spot. You'll be on a soft-top in white water with a coach next to you, at a wave that forgives mistakes. Most people stand up on the first morning. Board and rash vest are included.
I can already surf — can you just show me where to go?
That's the guiding, from 250,000 IDR. We take you to whichever spot is working on the day's swell, wind and tide, and put you on the right board for it. Transport can be arranged depending on the spot. It saves you a week of guessing.
What if I ding the board I rented?
Bring it straight back and tell us — a fresh ding dried out and fixed the same day costs a fraction of one that has been soaking water for three days. Repairs start at 150,000 IDR. Small dings on a rental happen; we charge for the repair, not for the drama.
Can I sell you my board before I fly home?
Send us a photo on WhatsApp with the dimensions and we'll tell you what it's worth here. We'd rather buy a board that's going to make someone's trip than see it left behind a guesthouse.
What if the waves are too big in Kuta?
There's almost always somewhere working on this coast. If it's blown out everywhere in front of you, our friends at Boce Surf Boat run across to Ekas from Awang harbour, twenty-five minutes by boat. We'll set you up with the right board for it.
